  • Book club discussion with renowned psychologist Dr. D. Kim Singleton.  Dr. D. Kim Singleton is a Soror initiated in Alpha chapter. Her book, Broken Silence shares the inspiring stories of eight African-American women who have healed themselves by opening their hearts and minds in therapy. The premise of the book is removing the stigma of obtaining help/counseling and coincides with NAMI’s social media campaign #IAmStigmaFree.  Soror Singleton will facilitate a book club discussion and then have a panel discussion about mental illness.  There will be a VIP reception on Friday, July 22 followed by the Community Impact Day on Saturday, July 23.  This is a joint effort between Beta Omega, Xi Tau Omega, Mu Omega and Upsilon Rho Omega. Details on the time and place of the event will be forthcoming as well as information on how to order the book Broken Silence.

Participation would require advanced copies of Broken Silence. They can be ordered, for $12/copy ($10 + $2 handling fee), through Soror Singleton at
